Azerbaijan e-Visa requirements, validity and processing
Review eligibility, passport rules, required documents, validity, permitted stay, entry conditions and Standard or Urgent processing.
What is the e-Visa to Azerbaijan?
The Azerbaijan e-Visa is an electronic visa for eligible foreign nationals and eligible stateless persons travelling to Azerbaijan for a temporary stay. It is issued electronically and must be used with the travel document stated in the application.
Who can apply?
Citizens of countries on the eligible list may apply. Eligible stateless persons permanently residing in an eligible country may also qualify. Refugees are advised to use the appropriate diplomatic or consular visa route.
Eligible nationalities
The current eligible list covers selected countries across Europe, the Americas, Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Oceania. Eligibility is linked to the nationality and travel document selected in the application.
Temporary visa-free rules
Certain eligible nationalities have temporary visa-free arrangements allowing up to three entries within one year and up to 30 days per entry. A visa is required for the fourth entry. The application displays a dated notice only while a relevant temporary period is active.
Standard and Urgent processing
Standard applications are processed within three working days. Urgent applications are processed within three hours, including holidays and non-working days. Both options currently produce a single-entry e-Visa.
Validity
The e-Visa is valid for 90 days. For Standard processing, the requested validity start date must be at least three working days after submission. For Urgent processing, validity begins on the issue date.
Number of entries
The e-Visa permits one entry. A new e-Visa can be requested only after the traveller has left Azerbaijan.
Maximum stay
The maximum stay is 30 days and must remain within the e-Visa validity period. The traveller must leave before the authorised stay ends unless another lawful status or extension applies.
Passport requirements
The passport or accepted travel document must remain valid for at least three months beyond the e-Visa expiry date. Travel using the same document and nationality used in the application.
Required document
The confirmed upload is a readable scan or photograph of the travel document page containing the holder’s photograph and personal details. A separate portrait photograph is not required in the current flow.
Application information
Applicants provide nationality, travel-document type, purpose, processing option, validity start date, names, birth details, sex, occupation, contact details, residence, passport dates and accommodation address in Azerbaijan.
Accurate information
All information must correspond to the travel document. Incorrect, incomplete or mismatched information may prevent acceptance or make an issued e-Visa invalid. Corrections after submission generally require a new application.
Travel purposes and restrictions
Travellers must respect the declared purpose. The e-Visa does not permit paid employment. Journalistic activity may require prior accreditation. A traveller remaining entirely in the international transit area does not enter Azerbaijan.
When to apply
Submit a Standard application at least three working days before arrival. Submit an Urgent application at least three hours before arrival.
Entry points
The e-Visa is used at an Azerbaijani state-border checkpoint. The current conditions do not limit it to a separately named airport, seaport or land checkpoint.
Documents required on arrival
Carry the travel document used for the application and a printed copy of the e-Visa. The e-Visa is not attached to the passport and can be printed again if lost.
Entry requirements
The e-Visa information must match the travel document.
Registration after arrival
Travellers staying for more than 15 days must be registered at their place of stay. If the place of stay changes, the new address must be registered within five working days.
Requirements for children
Every child needs a separate e-Visa application, including a child included in a parent’s passport. The current electronic-visa information does not specify a separate parental-consent upload.
Family and group applications
The process supports individual applications and application groupings. Each traveller, including each child, still needs separate personal, passport and document information.
Staying longer
A traveller who wants to remain beyond the permitted period must follow the separate migration procedure. A new e-Visa cannot be obtained while the traveller remains in Azerbaijan.
Refusal, cancellation and entry restrictions
An application can fail or an issued e-Visa can become unusable because of false or incomplete information, an unreadable passport image, a different travel document, mismatched data or applicable entry restrictions.
Important travel information
Before departure, compare the issued e-Visa with the passport, print the e-Visa, verify passport validity and keep both documents available. Temporary rules and issuance conditions may change.
